Population growth is a proven stimulant for economic growth, however, given the exodus of productive workers interstate, declining natural population growth and legislation changes that limit immigration, South Australia’s population will start to decline in 3 – 5 years and is unlikely
to achieve its 2027 population target of 2 million. This Migration Report presents 14 recommendations to retain the primacy of Australian workers, whilst creating a demand driven immigration system that lls skills gaps, fuels industry and grows our population to achieve prosperity for all South Australians.
